Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Grade 9 Science

About the site
What is Grade 9 Science? ▾

Grade 9 Science is a revision website for GCSE students. It has flashcards, quizzes and past paper links for Biology, Chemistry and Physics across Paper 1 and Paper 2, so you can test yourself and lock in what you know before your exams.

What exam board does it cover? ▾

Grade 9 Science is built around the AQA GCSE Combined Science specification. All 87 topics are mapped directly to the AQA syllabus, so everything you revise is relevant to your exams.

Which subjects and papers are included? ▾

All three sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) across both Paper 1 and Paper 2. That's 87 topics, with Foundation and Higher questions where they differ.

Using the site
How do the flashcards work? ▾

Each topic has flashcards with a question on one side and the answer on the other. Tap the card to flip it, then mark it "Got it" or "Missed it". You can shuffle the cards, or use endless mode to keep going until you've nailed every card.

What else is there besides flashcards? ▾

Every topic also has a quiz (multiple choice, fill in the blank and select-all questions) and links to past papers. Your progress and scores are saved, so you can see which topics need more work.

Do I need an account? ▾

Anyone can sign up with an email address. Full access to all 87 topics comes through your school (with a class code) or from paying for access in the past.

Can I use Grade 9 Science on my phone? ▾

Yes. The site works on phones, tablets and computers. Just visit grade9science.com in your browser. There's no app to download.

Schools
How do schools use Grade 9 Science? ▾

Schools buy a yearly licence. Every pupil gets full access to all 87 topics, and teachers get a dashboard where they can see each pupil's progress, set homework, find the questions their class keeps getting wrong, and use ready-made starters and printable worksheets.

My teacher gave me a class code. Where do I put it? ▾

Sign up with your school email and you'll be asked for your class code straight away. Missed that step? Press Class code on the hub at any time.

What can my teacher see? ▾

Teachers at your school only can see your name, year group, progress, quiz scores and homework results. That helps them see what to go over in lessons. Nobody else can see it, and we never sell or share it. See our Privacy Policy for the details.

It says my code only works with a school email ▾

School codes only work with your school email address, so your teacher knows it's really you. Sign out, then sign up again using your school email (the one your school gave you), and enter the code.

I'm a teacher. How can my school get Grade 9 Science? ▾

Email hello@grade9science.com and we'll set up a free look around for you and explain how the school licence works. If your school already has a licence, your head of department will give you a teacher code.

Account
I paid for full access before. Do I still have it? ▾

Yes, you keep full access. We no longer sell individual access, but everyone who paid before still has it. Just log in as normal.

If anything isn't working, email hello@grade9science.com and we'll sort it out.

How do I reset my password? ▾

On the login page, click Forgot password? and enter your email address. You'll get a reset link within a few minutes. Check your junk folder if it doesn't arrive.

How do I delete my account? ▾

Email hello@grade9science.com from the email address you signed up with and we'll delete your account and all its data within 30 days. If you joined through your school, you can also ask your teacher.

Results
Will this actually help me get a Grade 9? ▾

Testing yourself (active recall) is one of the most effective revision techniques there is. Repeatedly answering questions, rather than just re-reading notes, moves information into long-term memory. Grade 9 Science won't do the work for you, but used consistently it gives you a serious advantage.

How often should I use it? ▾

Little and often works best. Even 10 to 15 minutes a day on a topic or two beats one long session a week. Go back to the topics you struggled with more often, because that's where the biggest gains are.
